Black Team foot-pockets / carbon-fiber blades?

Does anyone know if Piccaso black team footpockets are compatible with any fiberglass or carbon fiber blades?

Ike,

The Carbon and fiber blades in the market fit most of the standard footpockets, like Picasso, Omer, Spora, spetton, etc.

The only difference are the number of screws in the blade ( one for Picasso and two for the rest). But everyday more people are usilng the blades without them.

We at Leaderfins make our blades without holes and yopu are free to make them or not.

The screws help but you should cement the blades in with marine-grade epoxy resin, keeps them from slipping about.

I have Matrix fiberglass blades in Black Team pockets. I drilled a hole for the single screw, using a block of wood behind the blade to back it up.

Here is part of an email I got from Dennis Hausler of 20 Fathoms. It might be helpful installing any brand of blade.

Use some silicone spray for assembly, lightly spray around the pocket where
the blade will insert.Roll the rubber pocket rails back to allow the blade
to insert. I get it started, then put the heel against my chest, and pull
hard to get it all the way into the pocket.
Next, roll the rails up onto the blade edging, engaging them with the rubber
rails on the blades.
I don't remember if you have to trim the picasso pocket ends or not, if
there is an engagment notch in the picasso blades, you'll have to either
trim off the last 1/2 inch of the pocket rail, or carve out the piece of
rubber that engauges with the blade. You'll see when you go to finish the
rail onto the blade.
OK, now the blades are inserted, rails are on, hold them up and sight them
from the heel to see if theyr'e straight in the pocket.. If they look
straight, they are. If not, just tap them to get them straight. Now, both
are done, stand them on end, tips down, to see if theyre approx the same
length. If they are, your good to drill. If not, strip off the rails on the
longer one, and start over, pulling it into the pocket again.
Then drill whatever size hole you need to allow the screw, and tighten down.
When you drill, back up the blade with a piece of wood, I land them on a
2x4.

You can use 3M 5200 silicone adhesive to fix it or small drops of Loctite.

Hi, i,m using Cyanocrilate (Loctite or other brands) in 3 points of each nerve and a little bit under the sole. Pefect, no problems at all.

Some times railrubber of blades and rail in the nerve can be a little bit diferent, easy to solve with cutter.
