A couple of times the last two days, when loading the forums (through both iPhone and laptop, chrome) the site had a dark blue background and any fonts could not be read.

It seemed like there was something wrong with the CSS loading correctly or something like that.

Most of the time the site is ok but as I've seen it at least twice the last two days from both my phone and laptop, thought I'd let you guys know.

Simos - thanks - I'll check it out. It's probably just a corrupt file in our CDN cache.

Yes, it happens occassionally, but I do not think anything is broken. Simply the connection times out before the external CSS loads, hence the browser displays the page without the CSS formatting. There is certainly nothing broken on the server. More likely it happens either when the connection is slow, or possibly when the server is visited by some scrupulous spider that loads hundreds of pages in the same time, rendering it so very slow.

So unless you want to move the site to a stronger server that could hold the ocassional peek load, or unless you want to restrict the access of bots, the only thing I'd suggest is changing the default blue background color (the one defined in the HTML direct, not in the CSS) to light gray instead - it will make the pages better readable even in case of such rare hiccup.

If the site doesn't load as it should for the user, then by definition something is broken! :p
(I know what you mean though Trux)

Since the CSS is delivered through NetDNA's CDN, it's a bit unlikely that Stephan's server can withstand more load than the CDN so I think there must be something else going on that causes the CSS not to load. Maybe corrupted or some other issue.

Anyway not a biggie - I don't see it happen very often...
