Hi All,

A group of us will be at Blue Springs State Park, north of Orlando, Saturday, September 16, 8:00 am. Come join us. If you haven't dove Blue before, it is a slighly wierd, but very fun dive, 100+ possible, but lots of shallower stuff available.

Connor

Hi Jimdoe,

I think that means you are coming, great! Looks like we will have a nice crowd.

Connor

Conner,

I have jury duty from Sept. 11th through Sept. 15th and will drive up from Palm Beach saturday morning. I am concerned about what time I will actually arrive though. If my wife gives me the thumbs up, I will stay through sunday as well.

:)

Hi Jim,

Ah, jury duty, I have yet to have the honor (and hassle). I don't think defense attorneys like me.

Blue is one of those places that we need to be there early. I leave the house at 5 am. Park opens at 8, sometimes a little before, and there will be a line of bubble blowers. We get in faster and have 30 minutes to 1.5 hours undisturbed. After that it can get pretty crowded. Only once have I seen it bad enough to think about leaving and that was only near the end of the dive, but early is better.

I can get you good directions and find out exactly how long it will take to drive, if you need.

Connor

Bump.

Just a reminder. Look like we will have 5 or 6 divers. Ya'll come.

Connor

My friend Shawn and I will be there! He is joining this forum if he hasn't already.

See you there! I can't wait. I soo love the springs!!

Thanks to all who could come. It is a lot of fun to dive with a group. Special thanks to Jimdoe2you for bringing all the goodies (I've aquired serious gear envy) and to Scott and MKDVR for going all the way to Troy Springs to meet me on Sunday. Troy is a neat dive. and I gotta get a better wetsuit!

Has anybody been as deep as 109 ft. in Blue??

Connor

It was nice meeting you guys. Swimming with the manatee made my day!

I had fun, too bad I still have congestion and couldn't get much farther than the tree hehe. But I swear I did get to 55.3 after lunch! Hehe.

Yes! Definite gear envy, I need a wetsuit, weightbelt, mask, fins! Heck I need it all. Well ok maybe I just want it all... hehe.

Well Conner, that great honor belongs to you! For doing so, you win this wonderful "Camaro body surfing top with nylon arms". Enjoy!!!

Jim

My post above is a little sparse so let me add some more goodness to this thread. First, the group who showed up were really fun to hang out and dive with. Second, the spring with its clean and clear water, the manatee that swam with us, and the naturaly beautiful scenery really made for a very relaxing day. I look forward to doing this again with all of you in the not too distant future!

That's an interesting little suit. I'd swear those look like wrist seals off of a drysuit.

Excellent weekend. Dove my ass off and performed much better than expected. Nice to meet up with Connor again as well as Jim, Springfree, Holdyourbreath, Scott, and all the others. We spoke with several interested newbies and expect that we will add a couple of new members to the forum soon. :friday

Connor and Mike and others,

Great diving with you guys this weekend. If you got any good photos or video clips, why don't you post them (if they would be of local interest only, please e-mail to me at scottlnelson@hotmail.com).

Thanks,

Scott

P.S. Connor, I received an e-mail from Juliana at martinstepanek.com saying the bag was on its way.

I've been doing a lot of editing and will send some soon. I believe I have a video of each of us and only a few pics. I forgot to take more pics.

Video sent. Let me know if you get it.

P.S Connor. I have a pic and video of yourself. I can send it if you want. Just need an e-mail.

I'm seriously considering coming down again this weekend. Don't have a buddy for Troy this time. Anyone else that might make it to Blue this Sat. the 23rd? Scott?

Mike,

I am definitely planning on doing Blue again this Saturday (can just do one set of AM dives) and can make Sunday AM as well. Let me know if that works for you (or anyone else who is interested).

I did not receive your e-mail/video, please try resending as I look forward to seeing it.

Thanks!

Scott

Thanks to JimDoe2you for the Camaro suit. I do some odd stuff with wetsuits, like body surfing in Florida winter. That suit looks like the answer for shoulder flexibilty.
We will do Blue again and after that, who knows, the Northwest, Little Cayman, Bahamas, Tahiti? ? ? So many places to dive and so little time.

Connor
