We are starting to get a good size group of freedivers at Blue Springs State Park in Orange City. Everybody is starting to dive deeper and longer. Because of this, we have decided to hold our first Freedive Safety Training/Practice Session on Sunday the 15th at 9am. We are planning on doing a cookout and making a day of it. So come early and stay as long as you want. We will be there most of the day. Just don't expect to show up late and have us start over. If you are coming for the safety training, please be on time.

I am not a freedive instructor, but have been through the PFI course and I'm willing to share what I learned to help make others safer divers.

We will be covering:
Blackouts and how to reduce/avoid them.
How to properly "spot" someone including techniques specific to Blue Springs.
Gear selection for safety.
And weighting for proper buoyancy.

We will also be doing personal best dives so that you understand your limits and when to request a designated spotter.

This is by no way a substitute for professional training. This is just our way of trying to reduce possible freediving accidents.

If you can't make it this time, come out and dive with us anytime. We are there most Saturdays by 9am. We will also be doing regular training sessions.

You can also find us on Facebook by searching for "Blue Springs Freedivers".
