Don't know if this is of any use to any of you out there but there was the first of the season caught on Nov 1st off donegal. If you ever have a notion of coming over give me a shout when i'm in mullaghmore next time i will give Liam a shout and see what the story is.
As an aside howsafe are blue sharks to snorkel with ? I might see if I could get out with them some day and have a gander. The lads are tagging and releaseing only and don't know if they attract the sharks in any way.

Bluefin are catch and release only in Ireland.
Unfortunately there is no quota for Bluefin in Ireland and this is applied to recreational fishing as well.
Sad but true.

My advice regarding Blues is that while they look docile and slow they are efficient predators and have very sharp serrated teeth.
I would avoid them if it was me.
