Greetings,

Here are the rules for participation:

1. Bubble rings must be done while freediving and logically you may only submit your own bubble rings. Please, try very hard to make the best bubble ring you can and don't submit it until you are sure it is perfect. We want to see your BEST work.
2. Only two bubble ring submissions (photos) per athlete are allowed. You can post one now, and another one before the deadline, if you think the competition is too fierce and you need more practise ;-)
3. Any submitted photo must, obviously, contain at least one bubble ring. The size of submitted photos must be 600x800.
4. Deadline for all submissions is the 20th December 2005. Any bubble ring posted on a later date will not be considered.
5. After the deadline a poll will be opened (on a separate thread) with the names of all freedivers who submitted a bubble ring. The voting deadline will be the 31st December 2005.
6. All deeperblue members may act as judges.
7. The winner will be Bubble Ring World Champion 2005.

The heat is on.

For honour and glory,

Roland

Sweet!!!

I warn you though - besides ping pong, bubble rings are the only thing that bring out the competitive animal in me! Therefore I wager you one dinner at the chicken place!

Tomorrow will be my warm up day - I've learnt a secret new technique from tibetan yogis that will allow me to blow bubble mandalas from 40 metres.... photo to come soon, obviously.

Fred

I somehow get the feeling that we've now seen the best - all of these would be hard to beat, surely? Fred - who blew the big one that you photographed? ( Please don't say ' The freediver underneath it' ) :)

Not my best but only photo. I just learnt those double bubble rings i was so happy when i did my first. Like setting a new pb i was stoked. rofl :thankyou

hi again,

good to see there is some talent out there :)

but please read the very first post again (rules for participation) in order to have a valid entry.

excerpt of the rules:

1. Bubble rings must be done while freediving and logically you may only submit your own bubble rings....We want to see your BEST work.
.
.
.
3. ... The size of submitted photos must be 600x800....

7. The winner will be Bubble Ring World Champion 2005.

so stick to the rules as there is a lot at stake. fred, you won't win anything with guillaumes bubble ring ;)

keep up the good work, boys and girls!

respect

roland

ps: sheepeck, use the search function, there are a few threads here where techniques were discussed already.

Lovely - I am preparing myself to take on the role of a judge (since I dont know how to do a bubble ring)
I suggest we see that Guillaume sent his bubble ring with Fredric as a frontman. Or do we need G´s written consent?

Sebastian

MMMh....thought "your own work" was refering to a picture that the submiter took...

Sebastian, maybe possible to play with photoshop to change the point of view.....!

Ok, so just for fun, here's another shot of bubbles rings...I haven't blow them but one I took and no photoshop at all on that one, it's real.

hi,

sorry, fred, for the misunderstanding. my fault. i edited the rules and now it reads like this:

"....you may only submit your own bubble rings...."

something that should be expected of the Bubble Ring World Champion 2005.

cheers,

roland

No problemo!

But what are you doing in front of a computer when you have the sea so close and the possibility to train for bubble rings!!!????!!!! : )

Anybody for a snowball contest in Brussels...?

Fred

This reminds me of the scene in the first Lord of the Rings where Bilbo blows a smoke ring, then Gandalf blows a smoke ship and sails it through Bilbo's ring.

At the moment I am struggling to be Bilbo...

Ps Who took that photo Watts.... he's rubbish!! :D
