That is one predicament I wouldn't mind being in!

Amazing pictures and fish, especially the one where you're ascending with a wahoo while being circled by amberjacks!

Great pic's and BIG fish. Are you hunting rigs or bottom structure and how deeps the water?

Dave.

Thanks for the pictures but we would love the story too....

Are you taking those ono with flopper and reel only? You must have a horse shoe up your A$$!:blackeye

Nice fish, what depths are those ono running at? Here its usually the opposite, our ono run near the surface and big jacks run deep, though we dont usually get ono or AJs like that here.

Im not much of a writer. We had perfect conditions on the trip the first week in march. Blue water, tons of life, lots of sharks. Before and after that the water has been pretty dirty. We were only getting a couple of wahoo a trip. But on the trip in early march between me and another guy we landed 6 wahoo over 50lbs and one aj over 100lbs. Hundreds of wahoo. Hundreds of ajs, many well over 100lbs all within 50ft of the surface. Once we started chumming the ajs were right behind the boat waiting for the next piece. The wahoo werent as aggressive with the chum. Had one wahoo get attacked by a shark but we were able to fight him off and recover the fish in decent condition. It was hard to justify wasting time shooting a big aj with all the big wahoo around but mike shot one. Jeni jumped in and shot an amberjack that was in the chum close to the boat. She didnt want to stay long with all the big sharks. We are always the only boat out during the winter chasing these wahoo out of texas so its awsome not having to compete with other boats. The ajs come shallower in the winter as the like the cooler water. In the summer they stay below the thermocline unless chasing bait. Which can be as deep as 190ft somtimes in august. We were using slip tips.

We use floats on the wahoo. The riffe euro with reel was for a second shot if i needed it.
