Gents anybody got any links or info on good deals for boat/rib insurance?
I’ve used Navigators and General for my previous inflatable and last year for my Ribtech Rib, but this year the premium has shot up to almost £380.
So which companies do you blokes use? Any info would be good.
Cheers:)

Thanks chaps, had a look on-line and found the same insurance from the same company but for £178 only through a broker. Phoned Navigators and General direct and they couldn’t match the quote even though it was for the same thing.
Yep I know, it makes no sense to me either.

Hi podge. As I seen your post on forum that you want to know information regarding boat/rib insurance company. I suggest you to visit policydog.com. "Chav on board" Don't panic Stevie, most of Glowworms mates know that he dives with us so we get left alone, besides we don't carry anything shiney on board.roflroflrofl

Guys, thought this may be of some help. These people seem outstanding, customer service and communication skills very good and the cost was £141.59 (£150 excess) for £3500 of 5m Humber Assault, 55hp, RIB cover, towing skiers & toys, 12 month use etc.
Recommended off RIB Insurance - Comprehensive Boat Cover
(Quote JBT Marine)
Alison Melia or Gareth Jones at Heath Lambert

Hey Guys,

Boat insurance is based on boat value & speed but displacement boats will always be cheaper than speed boats.
In fact where I live, boat insurance is only compulsory for craft that have top speed over 10 knots.

Depends on useage as well. I pay about £300 PA for my boat on a value of £45,000 including a high speed clause and 12 months afloat (in a harbour). However, when I had a commercial fishing licence the same boat was over £2000 PA insurance and that only covered commercial fishing by diving and lining, no pots, nets, trawls etc.

Dave.
