Bodrum, Cyprus, Eilat, Dahab, Caesarea I cant decide!

Please can someone offer some help?

I have been searching and scouring these boards for hours trying to pick a holiday destination for Mrs Paolo and I later this year but just cant decide. Ideally we (I :)) would like somewhere the snorkelling / freediving is good but not too hard as we are only beginners. In an ideal world there would be somewhere with a freediving centre but I realise you can't have everything.

We are looking at the med / red sea areas but its a bit of a case of you can't see the wood for the trees. Ultimately we dont really mind where we end up though I am harbouring a suspicion that mrs paolo will want to go somewhere there is more to do than just freediving to break up the holiday a little.

The time we have in mind is mid october if that makes a difference though we have an opportunity for a holiday in mid Aug if thats better? I am hoping places will still be nice and warm in the right areas? we have, say, £700 each tops to spend?

Please help me pick somewhere - its driving me crazy!

Dahab or Eilat, finding a nice place to dive is easy enough but both of these places have frredive centres as well.

Dahab is very cheap and good accomodation can be had for very little, any hotel on the water front will have EXTREMLY good snorkelling and shallow freediving (and deep for that matter) literally inforn of your hotel and then there is the Blue hole! ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Lotta is great at Freedive dahab and a good teacher... but dont tell her i said that! hahahaa

Cyperus will be nice but not as easy to dive and not as much to see. the Red SEA would be my choice hands down in that part of the world.

hope that helps a bit.

thanks for the tip - Ive just checked some prices and they seem to be coming in at circa £1500 for the pair of us for a week for Dahab which is painful but doable!
Will keep looking though - are there any recommended agents for eilat / dahab?

erm, ok - apparently we cant afford £700 each and things are now tense in Paolo towers. Is there a cheaper option?

not really, get away from the agents1 speak with Lotta or Linda direct!

they arranged Top level accomodation (egypt style) for my self and my partnerfor only $30eu per night. which is cheap and there are MUCH cheaper options if you are willing to go ore basic.

flight si know nothing about... flights alone for my partner and i return to australia was well over 3000EU before diving, transfurs or accomodation.

i recon accomodation plus diving, plus foo etc you can get away with around 100EU a dau in Dahab easy.

thanks for the reply - unfortunately because Mrs Paolo is a teacher we have to go in school holidays and flights double in cost for the time we have :(
Accomodation seems very reasonable - its the flying thats the killer!
Currently considering the south east corner of Cyprus or maybe Malta?
