Just wondering how many people use da body kui? I usem when I use my reel gun and anchor my float. Just easier. A lot of people use this style over here. You guys get some horror stories to share?

For da haole's: Kui = stringer

I always use a body kui. It makes life easier, especially when shooting smaller fish like goatfish. For bigger fish, gotta stick them on a float - I'm not dragging a 20 pound ulua(trevally) around on my waist :naughty

No real horror stories except for eels scaring the crap out of me... I find it's better most of the time for sharks - once they whack your float stringer(which they'll do more readily since it's far away from you), it often incites a feeding mode which can frenzy them and/or attract more sharks. With the belt kui, this isn't a problem. :martial

In Cal, the kelp is a real problem to using body stringers & I'll keep one on me at times, but rarely use them for any length of time. I try to dump my fish in the kayak as soon as possible. :hmm

I use a stainless steal circular stinger hanging down my float, but I use stringer only for some short shore diving.
