Its getting to be time for hurricanes to start up the east coast of the US. With any luck, they will stay 1000 miles off and produce some king sized swells that will end up as big surf on Florida east coast. If we are really lucky, there will be no wind. Anybody else out there who would like a buddy to body surf some of these?

It is good to find something positive about something potentially bad!
A bit far for me to travel though.

I remember California swells very fondly, wish we had some of yours. Ours aren't the size of California. In Florida, I've never been out in bigger than double overhead, and 9 ft face is a very big. Nowhere near the power for the same height, but plenty of fun all the same.

went yesterday in St Augustine Connor. Can't wait until we get to dive together again...

Just got in some boogie boarding and body surfing at SPI in Texas! We used to live for big storms when I lived at PCB, Florida as a kid. First time I ever body surfed was at Jones Beach, Long Island, NY in the 60's. Still love it!

Tony, I'm working on something that might interest you. Give me a few weeks.

agbiv, The boogie board is an interesting piece of kit. I've been experimenting with one for a couple of years. Not very good with one, but they are lot of fun in the right swell and a whole lot easier to catch the wave.

I've had a lot of fun with boogie boards, but I haven't used one in a while. I used to boogie board in the Santa Cruz area all the time, until my board dropped out from under me at Seacliff Beach in the middle of a good-sized wave. The board nosedived into the sand and I landed on the back end of it. My ribs hurt for weeks.

Play hard--expect some lumps! When you get to my age healing up is slower though! Went to local water park--have an artificial 'wave" flow for boogies. Watched awhile, stood in line a long while, got my board and it all came back!!! Swopped, twirled kneed (they won't let you stand). Deliberately went out the wash cause I was getting spent. Heard applause and saw my whole family in the bleachers cheering me for a good run! Overheard some kids saying "old dude did good". Really good for the ego. Anyhoo--keep at and have fun.

Hey Conner. I have not seen you in a long time. I have been out of the water for far too long and just started back diving a few weeks ago. I'd be interested in trying out the body surfing with you. We'll just have to plan a day. I'm off every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Also, Let me know if you go dive anyplace. I may join you.
