Bombs in London????

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I've been seeing the reports and my friends inside the London press are telling me that the following:

- There have been explosions on the London Underground with one confirmed fatality but many injured
- There have been several reported explosions on buses, although only one has been confirmed by Scotland Yard. In one report the bus was ripped open like a can of sardines
- Current indications are this could be a major terrorist attack but public officials are refusing to comment
- It is classed as a Major Emergency

I'm trying to follow this but am on a sketchy net connection so may not be able to post very often.

Prayers to everyone in London.

It looks like a terrorist attack, unfortunately. Yesterday we were congratulating London and today joining in expressing condolences to the victims of yet another mindless killing.

TV channels are reporting that phone systems are jammed, so net access may be down as well.

Confused situation atm:

Possibly 6 seperate bombs.
First incident in a railway station at 8.49am.
Seems that explosions were timed to coincide.

Quick update. I'll do what I can to keep you posted. Mark H (altsaint, Lucia, Lars) all OK as they've posted very recently on the Richmond freediving blog.
Mobile network is jammed currently. Police have confirmed terrorist attacks after finding explosives. Lots of casualties - awful injuries. Lots of people trapped in the underground. Some fatalities, no clear numbers yet.
Deeply distressing to see the images coming in.

according to BBC news - 6 bombs, 2 fatalities so far but from the footage I am amazed there are not a lot more. They are blaming Al Qaeda at the moment.

very scary - hope everyone is ok.

There is also an Israeli Economic Conference that was due to start this morning in London near one of the blast sites and the G8 gets underway today.

The world had it's eye on London because of all that is going on there and the terror-scum knew it and took advantage of it......

Thoughts and prayers to all those who are there or have family there...

B.

I hope everyone in London is OK!
All phones are down, not only mobile.
The CNN speculates that the bombings are connected with London winning the Olympics bid. Actually the reporter said that all bombings took place near the site where the Olympic village is to be built. However the bombings were made in a way to cause maximum chaos but minimum casualties, that probably rules out al Qaeda as they usually want to cause as much casualties as possible :rcard

Hence my Richard the Lion Heart theory...
i still can't find any deaths related to the bus explosion, which is incredible that it was only injuries..

Explosions were at Aldgate East, Liverpool Street, Edgeware Road, Kings Cross, Moorgate and Russell Square.
Double Decker bus blown was at Tavistock Square.
All within 45 minutes of each other.

PM has just announced that it is a terrorist attack. Possibly to interrupt G8.

The BBC are reporting 1 death on the bus but only 2 reported in all so far but the rescue teams are only just reaching the worst hit parts in the Underground.
Also reported about 5 minutes ago is that a statment on a webite has Al Qaeda claiming responsibility

If you wanna contact someone in the UK it seems that sms is the only way that still works.

Hi everyone, I'm ok, fortunately I was at home this morning. The buses and trains affected were routes which I have used many times.

Thankyou for asking.

Condolences to all who were involved. It was terrible to find out on the news what had happened.

Lucia
