The Art of Breathing by Nancy Zi is a good book and video to help learn the basics and subtle qualities for deep breathing and relaxing. After many years of being involved with yoga, chi kung,
and freediving I've finally found a good book and video on breathing. Based on chi kung this Chinese American who was raised in China has given exercises, imagery drills and philosophy
which can help in training.Little thought of roles of the tongue, throat, jaw, neck, and shoulders are explained and demonstrated by diagrams and exercises which are easy to understand and perform. Also, the video makes it easy to see and
understand the correct form. The video makes for excellent viewing with the lovely young lady(with a great set of 'lungs')
demonstrating half the exercises and a guy the other half.
If you got the coins, spring for the book $15.95 and the video
$29.95. I thought is was a good investment. Nancy Zi's URL is
theartofbreathing.com or you can call 1-800-INHALE-8. Amazon
and other sites have the book and video also. Otherwise, purchasing the book or the video can be done separately. The book is more in-depth but may be harder for some people to perform the exercises correctly.
