That's disturbing -- I bet we'd be horrified if we knew a fraction of what is going on out there. With new technology, engineering, materials, etc. our ability to destroy ecosystems has never been so great. I shudder whenever I see huge earth movers being trucked down to the West Country....A few weeks ago I saw a disgusting satelite image of about sixty trawlers doing their damage in the south china sea. It looked like a fleet of tractors turning over the soil in a field - because of the sediment that gets stirred up.
