Finally got almost EVERYTHING moved into my NEW house!

40 years old and FINALLY "took the plunge"....I just could'nt see renting any longer. :t

With three kids it was a wise decision to get outta the city and into the counry a bit...Cheaper too!

:naughty Also I was getting tired of paying someone else's mortgage!

The price I woulda paid for rent for a decent enough place was not much less than buying - so it made no sense to keep renting!

Besides...I'm now less than 10 minutes from one of my favorite lakes for diving & spearfishing...Clear water all year long!

Anyone else recently purchase thier FIRST home?
 
hey congratulations bgill! i just sold my place in South Africa, and I am looking for something, but am currently "homeless". buying your own place is such an achievement, well done! so.... is there place for all your guns?
 
Great time to buy, with the market way down and interests rates pretty reasonable. I'm sure in a few years when the market jumps back up you're going to be salivating over what a steal you got on the place. I bet putting holes in the walls to hang pictures and painting everything whatever damn color you wanted felt good after years of renting. Smart move and congrats.

Everything is nice...Starting to feel like home now. My wife is busy putting up our new $120 drapes!!! She better not complain when I finally order my new wetsuit and a 75cm HAMMERHEAD EVOLUTION - Oh...And maybe a 9 foot Gat-Ku also! :chatupI'm happy with the house just the way it is...But I suppose curtains and drapes are better than bedsheets!


I can't believe how much STUFF I've accumulated over the years - It's crazy.

And yes island_sands, I DO have a place for all of my guns! Now I just need to get me a mess of nice SPEARGUNS! :t

How'd you know I was a gun nut anyways?

I remember when I moved to South America and back. It was kinda a mind blowing experience both ways! Hope the renovations go smoothly!
