What does the normal bouyancy curve look like?

When surfacing from neutral bouyancy will you typically pick up more speed the further you get away from the bouyant point, this is figuring that you stopped just above neutral bouyancy and just floated up to the surface. Would you be moving faster as you hit the surface or would the bouyancy curve create an eqaul climb speed?

I'm guessing in the same respect that as you get closer to bouyancy, going down, you will find it easier to go down, correct? There should be less upward pressure as you get closer to bouyancy?

I'm not sure where I'm bouyany at. I haven't really checked. I know it's below 20 feet, but I'm not sure how much below. Each time I got down in the 20+ depth yesterday I forgot to check until I had already come back up to right around 20 feet and then I would stop myself and I would just float to the surface without having to do any finning. I thought about dropping back down but the upward momentum was overpowering my mind, thanks to hitting the 10 degree temperature drop and the "black hole" at around 20 feet, so I would just let "gravity" take over and not fight it.

I'm just trying to give myself an idea of where I might be bouyant at without having to test. I figure by watching my ascend rate that I should be able to get an idea of just far from bouyancy I'm at no matter how deep I am, correct?

I hope I haven't made this all sound too confusing.
