Boycott of Commercial Fishing

I do agree with you on a need for a sustainable commercial fishing the only problem....humans are EXTREMELY greedy.The best ways are probably threw improved methods of fish farming its much less impact i know that they are having problems with the sea lice and waste run off but im sure an modified system can be created.

The cannery I use has been based around sportfishermen (recreational) catch for over 50 years and this is there primary business. Although, they do sell their own gourmet commercial products as well. While there are some exceptions, commercial fishing overall has not been "reasonable or sustainable". This is why I don't wish to support it. I agree that fish farms may be a responsible way to overcome some of the problems.

Yeah with a ever growing population supply will never meet demand and if it does there will be nothing left.

There's a lot of moaning about fish farms too, from both sides. The whining never stops, no matter what.

And the only reason there is a cannery????....I applaud your DIYS efforts & attitude but I lean toward reasonable sustainable commercial fishing. The information is facinating! I also support the growing farming of fish such as steelhead, salmon, rainbow trout, cobia, mutton snapper, shrimp, clams, mussels, oysters, bluefin, tilapia, redfish to name a few. That is the direction human consumption must take.
