Before I dive on the line and practice dry statics I am using this breath up.

10 sec hold
breathe in 10 sec hold
3-6 deep faster breaths
Before the above Breath up I breath deeply and slowly for about 2-4 minutes.

What are other types of breath ups and why are they good. I am trying to increase my static by dry training everyday so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am training for a competition for next year.
I know a few people won't agree with doing statics every day but I make sure I get a good sleep and have antioxidants in my system.

The only right way to do breath ups is this:

Breath in 7 secs (96% of TLC)
Hold 11 secs
Breath out half of it 17 secs (down to 53% TLC)
Breath out the rest 3 secs.
Hold out 3 secs
Breath in 7 secs

Repeat 13 times.
Then dive.

With this you will succeed.

regards Sebastian

And yes I agree - good sleep and antixidants will do the job (and get enough water).

Why do you feel this is the only right way to do breath ups? Why did you choose the different amounts of times? Why say not a 12 sec hold or a 10 why an 11?

I was just trying to be funny.
We call it SATIRE in Sweden.

I find it very "romantic" the search for the one and only perfect breath up.

It all comes down to one thing; the amount of CO2.

Breath alot = low CO2 = late reflexes = easy dive = easy BO if you go all the way.
Breath less = high CO2 = early reflexes = nasty dive = less chance of BO.

And also some other factors like = less O2 with less breathing. But on the other hand you will most likely save more O2 on a no ventilation dive.

What do you mean you save more oxygen on a no ventilation dive? What is a no ventilation dive?
