I started doing apnea tables (dry) this year. I started around 1:15 and quickly made it up to 4:05. Now I'm struggling between 1:30 and 2:00. I started doing intense cardio after a long cardio layoff due to an injury.

The only things I can think of that would have reduced my breathholds so much would be that the hard cardio has broken my body down or I over did it on a breathhold and damaged something. Any Ideas? This is very frustrating.

How long have you been doing the hard cardio for?

If its been 2 weeks or less, your body may still be adjusting to the change.

Maybe you should take a break from breath holding for the time being. It helps.

Me for example, I haven't held my breath since more than a year ago. The other day we had a visiting diver come by, and I joined in training. I did a no warm up static attempt (something I've never done before) and almost came close to my personal best. I can only attribute this performance to the long break I've had.
