It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Not in Sheffield at the moment...it'll get me next time perhaps.

It’ll take more than a bit of rain to dampen this old boy’s sprit.:) :)
Maintain yer sense of humor all in the UK summer is just around the corner.

I've opened a boating lake in my back garden, the squirrels are freediving and me and my neighbours are playing Pirates of the Caribbean up and down our road......

I’ll bring some dry powder up for the cannons if you like.rofl

What with all this global warming the smart ones over here have moved to the top of hills, just like me.:)
No lake in my garden as all the water runs down the hill straight into the poor buggers at the bottom.:head

I am at the top of a hill, and no flooding near me anyway. It rained so hard that my garden had a few cm of water on the ground, and if it had gone on any longer it would have come indoors, as it was starting to leak under the door.

My goldfish had a bit of an adventure though...

I have certainly never seen weather like it.

Was in Ontario, CN fishing last week and we had a blow that flattened acres of forest! It's certainly impressive for this mild-weather sort to see thousands of pines as much as a couple of feet thick snapped off like match sticks. Strange weather, indeed!

Here in London we had a hailstorm in the summer! It was worse in South London (I am in North London). Apparently there were hailstones the size of marbles. What next?

The weather has been terrible, so much rain! Parts of Hull are still under 4 feet of water. Believe it or not though its still been 1c warmer than usual apparently, just hard to believe when you're freezing cold cause you're soaking wet!

Just discovered that one of those who died in the flood was a worker at a Koi farm, trying to unblock a drain to save his stock. :(
Sad Loss

I would have done the same.

It's been so bad i've emmigrated...
for a little while at least.

Untill then what would everyone say to a deeperblue camp over on some very high hill somewhere? Get away from those rivers and flood plains.

Can I come along? And my goldfish - they like water, but not that much...

Yeah sure thing! In fact why not fly out here to france, i'm off skydiving tomorrow if you are up for it. We are set for a glorious weekend, no rain all sun. Plus the diving here is GREAT...

Meet me by the sea for a BBQ?

Can't afford a trip to France and I'm not much of a traveller :waterwork but the diving looks a lot better than here. May go to Brighton when you are back there and the weather is better. :)

What about a few years ago when we had all that flooding? I think that might have been almost as baD? but I don't think there were as many deaths.
Has the rain stopped yet?

It isn't raining hard any more, but the weather is still cool and wet.

Hmmm, hopefully it'll get sunny soon. It's wet here too, and I should be jumping out of a plane right now but for the cloud cover.

The miserable weather is taking its toll. I managed to catch a cold - in July! I am better now.

The same can't be said of my pet canary - I had 5 of them, and one was looking a bit off colour. It was the youngest of them, a 1 year old female and bred by me, from parents I had bred myself, nice looking and a real character. I couldn't find anything obviously wrong, and by the evening she was looking a bit better, so I assumed it was nothing serious. They all settled down for the night, and soon afterwards that one fell off her perch, dead.

I have had many pet birds, but never one that died so suddenly. I heard it falling and found it directly under the perch with wings closed, so I assume it literally fell down dead. :(

I don't know if this had anything to do with the unusual weather, but it seems to be a bad year for breeding animals. The three female canaries, including that one, have nested and laid eggs, but they have not had a single fertile egg between them. The goldfish are chasing each other around, but no sign of spawn on the plants.

I have seen tiny goldfish of barely a year old, chasing each other as if spawning. They have probably been exposed to several changes of temperature, and for them, each warm/cold cycle is a year, so they think they are several years old.
