How in the name of god do you people make bubble rings. I tried till I was blue in the face. Literally. Sometimes I get one lousy ring, but them fall apart into ring of many small individual round bubbles in a short order. And even if I make a ring, there will be big round bubble attached to it somewhere in the middle. I tried just about anything and thanks god no one was watching, fancy lip or head moves - nothing works.

Andrew, maybe you need to change your last name into dolphin to make bubble rings?

Ok, here some tips:

- choose a shallow pool (1 - 2m)
- Make sure the water above is without current.
- use some weight on your belly or chest to stabilise yourself.
- Use a mask.
- Tilt your head backward so much that your lips are horizontal/level.
- bring some air into your cheeks.
- trying to have a round mouth opening blow out a short ball of air, strait up, like you would say a "P" or a "B". The lips go from inward to outward O shape.
- after the ring flies, or disintegrates wait a few counts for the water disturbance to settle down and blowing another ring.
- When you get good you perform bubble rings at greater depth requiring more strength, diaphragm control, and precise lip control.

Have fun and enjoy the audience that surely will be amazed with bubble rings too!

Bubble rings is the only thing I'm ok at, the rest of my freediving sucks - wish I was the other way round lol

anyway, it's the kind of thing that it's easier to show in person so if you find someone who can do them near you, get them to show you a few times. A few pointers:

Make your lips into a small O shape and put the tip of your tongue in the middle

Keep your lips really relaxed

Retract your Tongue in your mouth and at the same time 'spit' out some air from your cheeks. It should hopefully be a ring

Don't blow air from your lungs. Instead try spit the air from your cheeks. In fact, over-filling your chest with air doesn't help... You need a very small quantity of air for each ring if you do them right.

Try to keep your cheeks relaxed when you spit out the air and have a gap in your mouth.

Let us know how it goes...

PS once you get them, try blowing bubbles on after the other and you'll notice that you can get a bubble to go through another (we call it a 'double'). Pretty cool ;-)

How odd! I was only looking at this on youtube last week!! Can't wait to get to the pool to try it out. :)

Just get in the pool, take a good inhale, grab your weights, lie down on your back, lool straight upwards and say: poo (do it now, say a silent "poo" with your lips, yes this is it, do it in the water)

I think its the simpliest method to explain among others. Check out my rings, I'm the lord! :martial

I am getting better!!! about two out of five are awesome solid rings. It turned out to be great apnea training as well. I exhale dive (no weights) and at the bottom have enough air for only a few rings. I have to reverse pack to get some air into my mouth for another ring. I scrounge for little scraps of air maybe twice and from then on there is nothing else to do, just relax. I smile every time I think about rings. Thank you all!

Cool well done. I do them mainly to stretch my lungs too. :)
