Hi guy's!
I bought a BUCANERO96 speargun 3month ago. I used it first with 130cm 6,5
shaft from pathos 2x16 power bands opened.I couldn't shoot strait. After I changed the shaft for salvemare 140x6.5 and it is better, but shoots shorter than my friends bluetec82 with the same setup.
Shall I put 2x20mm powerbands? or the gun has a problem?

I dive more deep, see a lot big fish from 4-5m but all the time I miss becouse of the gun....

Hi pufferhal, i am affaid I an not familar with your gun, do you have a picture?
I assume it is 96cm long, twin 20 bands would most likely overpower the gun & make the spear distort & inaccurate but maybe a single 20 band at 3.5 stretch would work.
Also your rigging might be effecting accuracy?

Hello!

I have in front of ne a review of the Bucanero 86 gun and I will state the basic findings here, which you can use as a guide to obtain better performance from your gun.

First of all they replaced the two 16 mm original bands, which were too long with 2 primeline bands 16 mm in diameter, cut to 3.4 coeficcient.

Second, they report the gun weighs around 1.5 kg which is enough to take the recoil of the two 16 mm bands and the 6.5 mm spear. Second, they changed the original spear of 6.5 mm and 130 cm with 6.5 mm and 115 cm, since the first was way too long and heavy, resulting in the gun being very negative under water.

Just one more thing:
Did you consider using the 14 mm bands, as the reseller in slo has on his website the info that the equipped gun comes with 14 mm bands.

Hope this helps.

you can see it on facebook:CSEKEY BALAZS ,photos, bucanero
I have no idea how to put foto's here

Here you can see some foto's.
Maybe it"s possible 2x18mm rubber?
mine is 96 cm one size bigger and the bands are not original.
Good idea to check the lenght..

What do you have for a shooting line?

A heavy shooting line, along with a too long shaft (it should be 125 to 130 long) can seriously slow a shaft down.

Changing to 2 X 18 is not the best idea. With a 6.5 shaft, one 16 mm band or one 18 mm band or 1 20 mm band is all you need. Anything more will seriously affect the accuracy of the shot. Rob Allen guns can be fitted with one 20 mm band, but if so, they are at mess than 3.5 stretch. Most Euro guns do will with one 16 mm band and a shaft 40 cm longer than the front tube length.

I changed shooting line, the 2x16 bands were 3 cm long than normal. I counted nosehole to sharkfin x0.66. As I see without measuring it helped a lot.My gun with 130 shaft was
terrible I changed for 1,40 I don't miss.Now I hope the distance also solved thank's guy's!
