Buddy wanted in Swansea area!

Greetings fellow water lovers...

I'm a brand new freediver (but a very old scuba diver) and I'd really like to find a buddy...

Buddy Wish List (I'm not fussy, but hey, if you don't ask, you don't get - right?)

* Must be at least AIDA * Freediver;
* Preferably female (guys don't let that put you off);
* Preferably a member of the Esporta Glamorgan (so we can practice in the nice pool);
* Is perhaps a scuba diver...
* And likes sauvignon blanc (not that I am ever drinking alcohol or coffee again Emma - promise!);

Anyway, I'm really enthusiastic and keen to start practising, so please reply!

1) Yep am a qualiffied freediver AIDA***
2) Nope am a guy!!
3) Nope I live in Cardiff!
4) PADI and BSAC instructor
5) Love sauvignon blanc (Had a good Montana reserve last weekend!!)

There are a few guys on DB who are from the Swansea area, they might be able to help. I do dive all summer around west wales tho, there is some wicked freediving about especially over Pembrokeshire way. Would be more than happy to show you a few spots.

Did you do the SETT course with Emma? she's a bloody gud un!

Well hope you find someone near Swansea but if I can help with training tips at all just let me know.

Whereabouts in NZ? I worked over there for 18months about 2 years ago (have family outside Auk) loved every second of it, the diving is wicked over there as well!

Mainly Welington - I've only dived the Poor Knights over there but have done a bit of surfing!

PS Know if there are any spearfishing clubs? Or informal outings in our general vicinity?

PK is an awsome dive!

No real clubs as such but there are a few of us from the area that will hopfully get together this year.

Are you a spearfisher as well? I mainly spear durring the summer months, as there are some great spots for Bass etc. over west.

Dave is a great guy and none better to dive with, even if he does look weird in a dress rofl

Thanks - yes - I am a spearfisher - with a fantastic Lara Croftish spear gun I can holster on my leg. Haven't been in Wales because my husband is not H20 friendly (have you ever met anyeone who can go through 110 bar in 4 minuntes at 5 metres?.... Still the incident with the Portuguese man-o-war that nearly killed him might have something to do with it).

I want to go to Emma's summer school and get my ** & *** so really want to practice! If I get some fish too, that would be great!!!!

If i was you Polly i'd meet up with Dave, he's a top bloke and a good diver. I'm sure he will wear a dress for you and then thats 4 out of 5 rofl

A wish list for who to dive with might be a bit much, try again and just say 'i'm willing to dive with anyone' and only Dave will reply again rofl

If you go to the BFA website there is a listing page of were many divers are from incase anyone is close.

As soon as I get back from Honduras (off tommoro for a month!) I will be getting in. Will start around st Davids as usually a bit better viz the further west you go. There are bass being caught by rod and line already so watch out!!!!!

oh and the dress will of course be worn!!
