Bugs: Can't view all of my post / Can't edit post....

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
You should be able to edit the post by entering the following URL manually (or after clicking the link):

http://forums.deeperblue.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=871145

If you then replace the image with one scaled down, the post will display fine. I agree though that the forum software should do it automatically, and as far as I know the vBulletin software is capable of scaling down huge images, so it is probably just misconfigured in the DB admin interface.

It does look like the normal image resize auto options aren't working properly. I'll check the settings I make sure large images get resized.

Thanks Trux, I replaced the URL with that of a smaller image. ;)

Stephan, don't know if this makes any difference but this was a link to an image, rather than an image upload.

Ah - that will make a difference - if it is a link we can't do any resizing.

Not physical, but virtual resizing of external images is fairly simple and quick to fix. It is sufficient to assign the maximal width to the IMG element in the style sheet, so you can add this single line rather quickly:

HTML:
img {max-width:800px;}

The width should be a few pixels smaller than the message box width and I guess it can be applied globally, since you probably do not want any wider images anywhere in the forum. If you want to limit it to message images only, just add the scope of the message class too.
