What is the general consensus of creating some spear-wars on Burbot in Flaming Gorge Reservoir (northeastern Utah) this year? Burbot are an invasive critter, that were illegally planted in the tributary (Green River) upstream (Wyoming) of the reservoir. There are NO limits on the numbers you can harvest (more harvest the better). Season parameters – 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, Yes – underwater spearfishing with artificial lighting and it’s all legal in Flaming Gorge for Burbot only !!!! (no other species may be taken with artificial light) Burbot fillet so easy it is ridiculous. Excellent tasting fried and taste like Lobster when boiled. Actually Burbot are often called poor mans lobster. I'd like to get some competitions going to persue these critters. Anyone interested?
