Buxton? rofl Jeez that is about as far away from any decent spearfishing as you can get in the UK. A drive to either the south coast or Wales is the only option really and that will be a 3 - 4 hour drive. There are some freedivers and spearo's in Sheffield which is close by a member called Octopus if I remember rightly would be your best point of contact.
Buxton isn't far from me in Stockport.
The sea is far from me, start saving up petrol money
