Buying a pnuematic in Ireland.

Evening all,
Any Irish Spearos own a pnuematic legally,and if so what hoops did ye have to jump through to get a licence.
Is it the same kind of licence as a fiearm or is their a special one for spearguns ???
Do i contact my local super intendant or who deals with it ??
I quite fancy a pnuematic as i think with the developements in dry barrel technology its probably the future.
I believe a dry barrelled 90 is shorter than a 75 band gun with the range of a 100,if this is the case it sounds like the ultimate speargun.

Im sure one of the local chaps can give a better answer than i can.

However i did once exchange a number of emails with an official in Ireland, and the long and the short of it was that they were classed as fire arms due to the "muzzle velocity" of them.

Quite what hoops are needed to be jumped through I am not sure,

I must of read a dozen similar post over the years...folk asking about licensing an air gun in Ireland ... but I have never heard of anyone actually getting a licence!
