I'm getting Carbon Fibre Fins for Spearfishing, The fins i am getting are "C4 Red Falcon" I need to know the stiffness as I have never had Carbon Fins before and size. They do not sell those fins at the shop where I live ( Australia Sydney ) and only sell one carbon fin. (Not sure about name) Can i try a similar foot pocket at the shop as i am getting it online for $446. I do spearfishing with my Dad and just bought a wetsuit 2 piece Torelli for my birthday yesterday, We saw a bullshark (4 metres) it was a thrilling event as it was only passing through. Appreciate if you can help as i do not want to make a mistake, it is expensive.

Age: 14
Shoe size (US): 12
Gender: Male
Height: 1.90 m

Also i dive around 6 - 20 metres, i haven.t tried going to my maximum depth as i am curious. i am tall and quite muscly. i am not fat.

Mate, there is four different spearfishing clubs in Sydney. I have no doubt you would be more than welcome to attend any one of their meetings where you could ask about & look at the different brands that spearo's here use.

The Sydney Cup is being run from Gunnamatta Bay (Cronulla) this weekend & there should be more than 100 divers from several other clubs as well in attendance. It's a shame the viso is so bad at the moment as this will keep the numbers down.

20m is very very good for a 14 yo, just don't push your limits as you won't need more depth than this for 99% of Sydney spearing. I'd just concentrate on your fishing skills rather than worry about any more depth.

Cheers Sharkey

Denoski, C4 Falcons are sold with Omer Stingray foot packets. You can try any fins with these foot pockets to find out what size you need. As far as stiffness is concerned I would stay away from 40, in my opinion it's too stiff if you want to stay in water for several hours. I have older Falcons 40 and they are OK for pool training or short dives, but if I had to swim long distance with them it would kill my legs. In my opinion 30 should be perfect for you, most spearos choose this stiffness.

Thanks guys, I am in the water for about 3 - 5 and now deciding if i should get 25 or 30 stiffness, im going to the shops on sunday to try out the fooocket and then be buying them later that day, tank you guys alot appreciate it
