so i watch youtube and see herbert diving in what seems to be a very soft fin. i know his dive times are way out there but still...

then i get mt hands on Ant Williams's C/W fin and it is quite stiff. i know Ant Williams is a weapon in the water and can drive a stiff fin so i wanted to ask, what do you use for constant weight?

HyperfinS - Medium.
I used to dive with WaterWay classic Model 2, medium distance. Great fin for depth.

I have dived to 40m with a WW classic Model 1, long distance, and it was scary when I tried to start up my ascent. The fin felt like a towel and was overloaded quickly in my attempt to start swimming up and develop a bit of speed. Because of the negative buoyancy I recommend medium to sprint fins.

Medium/soft for me, I'm using a waterway glide with a #2 blade - but then, I seem to be suited to long slow dives. Being able to drive a stiff fin isn't quite the same as being efficient with a stiff fin, I could probably race down with a #5 but it wouldn't do me any good.

Great static too, are any of you guys coming over for the May comp?

well i think i need a new fin. i have one really soft and one hard.

not sure if any one will hit the may comp dave. i will be in hawaii but i will let a few ppl know about it.

What fins do you have, is the Leaderfins one with the clear blade the softer of the two? Those are quite good for CW as they don't compress, bit heavy though so sometimes your feet try to overtake your head while you're in the glide phase.

yea thats the fin. its soft. but its 1 kg lighter than a normal leaderfin.
i can only take one fin to hawaii so it either that one or a med/hard leaderfin.

the soft fin is alot more comfy.
what do you reckon?

Soft Fin! yo have the breath hold for it and with the softer fin you wont need to apply as much force to get an effecient power transfur resulting in reduced O2 and energy use. just have to get your head used to not flying up from the bottom.
