C4 81 vgr?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.

hi guys

similar to a previus thread but looking for the BEST performance fin freediving,not spearfishing.

Carbon blades only need apply short list is:

- C4 81
- Mtechnics Pure or spirit (not sure yet)

open to suggestions but yeah have a good quality Hyper style mono (triton) and anm very happy with it now just looking for a pair of bifins for something different.

have a hord of fins already:
- rekord 3
-Pegaso medium
- Sporasub revolution
- Ice 3
- stingrays
- imersion black etc

have owned in the past most other plastic blades and a pair of DiveR composites which were ok but nothing remarkable.

so anyway just looking for the pinnacle of bifins.

What about the Spierre from South Africa, I have heard very good things about the Pure Carbons!
 
I can't comment on the Mteck except to say I'm sold on the longer, softer approach to fin design. The 81s are lighter than the 80s that I now have modified for pool use and feel comfortable. They are also very nice on the surface but it took a little learning on how to keep them under water and still use the double bend.
If I ever get my leg strength back after three hip operations, the Mustang 40s will get a good test but for now the 81s are just my speed. On the second deep dive today (about 15 minutes apart) the legs complained a lot but I kicked up from 67 in 1:16, only slightly longer than the first one. I'm a lot slower than most.
 
I had a wonderful pair of Falcon C4 80 fins, I've never loved a fin like it and have tried a few. Unfortunately following an accident involving a tremendous amount of clumsiness, one of them now sits in my bag and the other is burried at -30m in 10 meters of black sludge at the bottom of a green lake. Any ideas where I can get a single C4 80?!!

Can't wait to try the 81s.
 
Well got the 81's!

all i can say is very happy.

foot pockets fit beautifully, with no slip or any pressure points.

lacing system is a pain in the butt, but works kinda.

the blade is pure SEX! beautifully made and icredibly light weight.

while swimming with them in the pool it is remakrable to feel this continious flow of pwer from the blade there is no speeing up and slowing down through the kick cycle it just kinda feels like you are riding a wave. beautiful

havent had a chance to try them in depth yet but that will be sorted this weekend.

anybody looking for purebred freediving bi-fins these are it effortless motion.

they dont have the acceleration of say a pair of OMER Rekords but they just go no feel of having to put more power into the blades they just work perfectly with a relaxed yet controlled stoke quite slow with only a little bit of effort required if any at all.

will share more thoughts on these after i have tried them in some deepish water up at the lake.
