Curious if anyone had any info on the new Mr.IRON and how it compares to the Mr.Carbon-is it in the same lengths or is there a version longer than the 119cm? Also trying to rig a urukay for a 7mm shaft and wondered if anyone had any advice on band length-I have 17.5 and 20mm rubber. Thanks as always for any info...

The Mr. Iron comes in the same sizes of the Mr. Carbon: 61, 79, 94, 104 and 119 centimeters, all with PS muzzle (single set of twin rubbers to cut and tie, no screws).
I dunno about the Urukay: haven't messed with the big guy. I can look into it in some italian forum and then post here some setup feedback from Urukusers. I can do this later.

thanks spaghetti, as always. I tried to decipher some of the Italian sites but my language skills being what they are...If you can learn anything about recommended rigging for a 119cm urukay it'd be great. I've used mine with an 8mm shaft w/slip tip and 3 20mm bands and it was excellent. shooting clear thru a bullseye at 20 ft with little recoil. but I don't get out for the tuna that much and would like to set it up with a dbl flopper 7mm seatec shaft and am trying to sort out band thickness and length for that. so any info you can provide would be much appreciated, thanks David
ps. Overall the urukay is a top gun but I was pretty underwhelmed by the muzzle and the inset screws for the muzzle. On my gun they completely gave out as the material around the inset screws was soft and rubbery almost-not carbon. I have just epoxied one back in and will wait to see how it holds up-a little dissapointing considering the cost and overall excellent design of this gun. that said if all is good and running the gun is a beast-on a test shot of a small jobfish in @17m at 5m-this fish was only 23cm and it was a head shot-spear went straight thru...

Thanks for the Post David , I hope Spaghetti can post some pics of the
urukay fully rigged , the c4 site dosnt have any

I really want to get the urukay before this spring ane bigger 50-60lbs fish get here , ,, I would love to shoot it with a float line and loose the reel ,,,

heres a clip of a Urukay with no reel seems to be balanced perfect

hola amigo! Always a nice surprise when you show up Joe. Well I JB Welded that insert and it looks and feels solid. Water testing and time will be the litmus tho. It really is a lovely gun and I'm stoked to do some more field testing. guppy jobfish aren't all i've shot with it. Check out "Capturing thanksgiving dinner in Indonesia" on youtube. there should be a second clip for another segment. These are some 17-20kg king mackerel (tengirri) we shot off Lombok. They are insanely good eating over here-way better than the atlantic or pacific version. Forgive the amateur second shots-we didn't have a thanksgiving turkey and didn't want to risk losing a fish. That day was unreal conditions-purple water, 84F, wahoo, baby yellow fin, 3 black marlin, a.pompano, mahi-of course it only lasted 6 hours and then the currents switched. I'd think about getting a urukay sooner rather than later-all indications are that the bottom could fall out on the dollar-meaning for me at least I could be home to the snow sooner than planned. All my best to the crew. will report back as reportable bits come in, inchallah...
