I am looking to upgrade my Omer Millenium fins and I am considering buying some fiberglass blades to use with my millenium footpockets.
The waterway blades ( the same manufacturer of the matrix) have very good reviews , but they dont have any angle between the foot and the blade.
The VTR blades from C4 are also fiberglass and reinforced with carbon, but they also have an angle wich should make them much more confortable for surface swiming. However, they are more expensive than the waterways.
Has anybody tried the VTR?
In your opinion is it worth to pay some 50$ more for the VTR because of the angle?
Thanks,
Luis

I'm not an affiliate of 20fathoms, but I am a happy purchaser of the Matrix blades from them and I just noticed that they are now selling a version that has an angle built into the blade under the foot. I believe they're called Edge fins, you can check them out at the 20fathoms website...

I have a pair of VTR-25's and think that they are a really good fin.

They have a little bit different kind of snap than my C4-30's, but that is because they are fiberglass and not carbon fiber. I've never used the Matrix fins so I can't comment on them. I have tried other fins without an angle in the blade and simply hated them.

I would look at the new Matrix, with the angle, or the VTR's if I were you.

Thanks for your replys,:t
John, for what type of diving do you use the VTR? How deep do you dive with the VTR? How are they for surface swimming, and how hard are the VTR 25?
Thanks,
Luis

Luisf,

I have 2 brand new pair of C4 VTR blades for sale "Cheap", they have never been in the water. I also have a brand new pair of Matrix #3 blades for sale, these were in the water for about 2 minutes only.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

Jim
