Anybody know how to fix the "Card Cover Open" error on an Olympus C5050 zoom. It appears to be a common problem but I was hoping there was an easy fix. I have tried all of the obvious things like removing/replacing/switching out cards and nothing works.:head

Got your camera handy?

There is a small square opening inside the card cover, at the top of the slots. See it?

Inside is a small pin, which is a trigger switch. Is that pin about 2mm from the "surface" of the opening?

You may have a faulty trigger switch, or an input card (that reads the various trigger switches in the camera) problem.

Unless its dirt clogging the pin, you may need proffesional help. Olympus should be able to tell you how to find a decent service shop.

Yes there is what looks like the edge of a small circuit board right in that opening about 2mm deep. I guess I should have a pro/shop look at it. Thanks Shadowkiller.
