Most of my dives are shore dives along the Orange County coast. Here's what I do:

This is my gear bag and I bring it down to the beach with me when I dive. The license is in a waterproof sheath & key-ringed to the bag so I never have to think about if I have my license with me or not. It can't fall out of the pocket.

If I'm going straight from my car (relatively rarely), I of course leave this all in my trunk. If it's a boat dive it's with me as well.

The priority for me is idiot proofing the whole process... I'm sure to forget and leave a lone license tag at home half the time.

I have the same type of holder for my license because I used to mainly fish from a boat and everything gets wet on a fishing boat. I'll have to get a key ring and set it up the same way. Thanks for the tips!
