Sorry if this has been discussed before:
to all the bodgers and techie people out there - where can I get a bolt to fit a standard camera tripod thread? I believe it would be a 1/4" Whitworth. M6 is the closest metric, but the thread is different so it just spins around. I'm trying to fix the camera bracket I made for my gun, from a toy telescope bracket (!) - unfortunately the bolt bit ( which by great chance was the right size to screw straight into the camera) as it's now rusted. I haven't yet tried everywhere locally- like old fashioned hardware places, but I suspect I'm not going to find one. Better still, does someone make specialised brackets? I can't believe I'm the first person in the world ever to want to do this!
If the bolt/bracket was stainless or something, even better!

Many thanks for finding that for me, Bill. Unfortunately, all I have missing is a little bolt, and I was hoping to spend a few pennies on that, rather than something like $60 plus shipping to the UK! :)

I think the bit I want is the little knob plus bolt at the end that goes into the camera, so if anyone has a broken mount and just that bolt left, I would be happy to buy one!
