Hi

Ive recently upgraded cameras to a sea&sea dx1200hd which is an awesome camera but the housing fogs up on the inside after a while :head

I have a silica bag inside to help but it still fogs up. is there any way I can stop this?

Cheers for any help

Assemble it in a cooler less humid room - should fix the problem..Also, I usually would use two desiccant packs and remember to change them regularly.

ok mate thanks fo rthe help will give it a go soon, theres enough room in the housing for another 2 packs :)

Stick the air-con on in the car and close up the camera after its been running a while, i.e. wot Will said :)
you could always rub toothpaste on the port like you would a mask... no no just kidding... ;)

looks like a superb camera!

Would it help simply to not close the case up until you're about to go in?

Take case and camera out of the car when you arrive and leave them outside (case open) while kitting up, and only put the camera in and shut the case just before you walk down?

is that the opposite of what you want to do? damp sea air in the case then immerse and cool = condensation?

try to spray some "dry air " before closing the housing. This is something you can buy in specialised shops. Works well and allows you to open it on the boat and just close it again after spraing some new air inside ...

Probably! The theory was allowing the thing to cool down first though. That way the temperature drop wouldn't be as significant when immersed. Indeed at this time of year the sea may well be warmer than the air eh! And dredged from the back of my mind I thought cold air could hold less moisture than warm air.

Cool "outside" air probably contains less humidity than warm "inside" air from your house or car, maybe? (Can you tell I'm guessing?) rofl

took the camera out today and had no fogging problems what so ever. Put the camera in the housing with a silica pack at home, drove with the heater on to my dive spot, made the half hour walk to the dive spot and got in. On the walk back I did notice a small amount in the housing but that cleared up by the time I got back to the car. the viz was rubbish but the camera is great so im very happy.

Thanks for all the advise guys
