Hey folks, I just got my canon ixus with underwaterhousing, I want to use it while spearing, if I´m to mount it on the speargun, are there any precausions that I need to take, I have a imersion triaxx100, It´s only got one rubber, a megabooster, do I need something to dampen the shock when I fire, så that the housing doesn´t shake to bits?
Feel free to give full description of your own set-up and experiences.

Nice looking rig but is it going to deflect the bands upward?

hcknudsen,

Nice Triaxx!!! What size is it and how do you like it? any pros and cons with it?

Jim

haven´t fired it yet but I can load it without problems, and I have filed it down so that the spear i level, hopefully try it tomorrow.

Jim: It´s a 100cm, put on a reel (not to good quality), and 26cm megaboosters, it´s a good gun, good in current under bridges, less drag. The boosters gives quite good power, the gun seems a little skinny with the rods, but the flex is actually minimal, don´t know if it would do good with double rubbers though. as to balance...hm, I´m always too busy enjoying myself to notice

hey Jon, see you made some experiences and ended up with a good result, thanks for the info, haven´t read it all, I´m wundering about the recoil of the gun, does that pose any treat to the housing?

hc

It hasn't caused any problems in my experience.

Jon

HC,
That looks like a very nice mount you made for your camera. Quality work!

Please report back and let us know how it works out.

Good luck, and I hope you get some great footage.
