i just bought an aluminum euro-style gun. it allready has one light scratch in the barrel. i am considering wraping the entire barrel length in camo tape., partialy to protect the barrel from scratching but also to experiment with attempting to mimic-camo the gun. my concern is two fold. 1)im playing with the idea of adding a rail. not sure if the tape will make it difficult to add rail or not. 2)would the added tape potentially increase the risk of corrosion during the odd marine outing?

I would probably install your rail first so the tape seams do not mess up the bonding of the glue to the barrel. Then run your tape long ways down the gun parallel to the rail.

I do not see how the tape would cause any issues with corrosion.

good luck
