i been told by my freediving instructur that wearing black wetsuit while spear fishing is good to spear some types of fish and fpr camo it is good when u spear some other types, so does anyone knows what type of fish would be attracked to the solid or black color suit and which fish would be more attracked to camo ??

I use a cressi tecnica and believe its used to make yourself LESS visible to all fish while laying in weed beds or between rocks etc depending on the camo you use although in reality it doesn't make much difference in my opinion, I used to use a black wetsuit and now I wear camo and cant really see much difference in the amount of fish I shoot, but I don't think either attract fish.

I use an Esclapez camo suit, personally I just went for it over the black because I liked the look of it.

As it turns out, the colours offshore here are more brown than the green of my suit....oh well.

I have seen this discussion many times and honestly i have used several different camo and all black suits no difference at all. Honestly a fish can feel water pressure changes through its lateral line so most are aware you are there and i think the difference really comes down to a hunter realizing how each fish reacts to him and adjusting his approach to match the type of fish he is hunting. So really it is the skill of the hunter not the suite watch some of the documentaries out there about the boat people of malaysia they dive with no fins, no wetsuit a home made speargun (and i mean beach wood and a rubber band) wood framed googles and they have no problems feeding there families. much like fishing lures most are made for the fisherman not the fish
