I have a Cressi Lionfish pole spear (3-piece) with paralyzer tip. The end of the pole has a 6mm thread. I bought a JBL single-barb spear tip but the transition from the spear tip to the pole is not smooth; there's a gap (picture attached). Do I need an adapter? Will this still work (ie. go through the fish)?

Thanks!
-Chris

the step-up is a little concer IMO, it will go through fish, but the flopper may be jammed or not open as it seem to be shadowed by the ridge.

I think the thickness of the spear behind the head might be a problem as it will require a lot of force to penitrate a fish and the step up in diameter may stop the flopper gripping the fish. The best option for single flopper on a handspear/polespear would be a length of spear about 450mm long with a single flopper. Something like the ones below. I hope this helps. Happy spearing.
