Can someone recommend a good quick release rubber belt?

Upgrading my crappy nylon belt as it always slips around when I'm in the water.

I bought an Omer Rubber belt last week but the rubber was such a tight fit in the buckle, it was a huge effort to actually remove it - it would be impossible to remove it quickly in an emergency, so not ideal!!!

Can anyone recommend another rubber belt that has a good quick release?

EDIT: Apparently, rubber belts with flip up buckles are not strictly Quick Release and there is a special type of QR rubber belt available... my bad!

Is the belt tight across the width or is it the thickness of the belt that's the problem?
Mine was tight width ways, so cutting an equal amount of rubber off of each edge where the belt goes through the release solved the problem.
If you already thought of that, sorry for posting 'the bleeding obvious'.

Great idea Dave - unfortunately it's the thickness of the rubber that's the problem, not the width :(

Just emailed Neil @ Apnea and he said I can return it no worries - great customer service! Just need to find another belt now!

I got around the problem by simply pot riveting my quick realise buckle + a short section of nylon belt to a rubber belt - I will post a pic in a bit...

I use to have one of those but I like to really pull the belt end up tight & that can only be done with a buckle like the one in my pic or a "non quick release" type!

I make my own belts from 5mm thick solid neoprene bought from a local gasket supplier. The buckles I get from ther local scuba shop. Bit of messing about with a screwdriver and pliers makes it all work.

I highly recommend you take a look at the Omer Marsellaise belt... very nice and elastic rubber and extremely quick-release buckle. I will never go back to regular buckles after using the Marsellaise.

If you haven't used one before, the rubber hole from which the metal pin comes out of is positioned at around 90 degrees from the buckle so a quick tug on the belt flap will make the pin pop up.

That's what i use along with my wt vest, works great with a quick release.

Might be a bit late with reply, but a Marseilles style belt is probably the safest and surest quick release - most of the main manufacturers make them (including Omer and Seatec, above).
