Can you please rate my speargun

I'm pretty new to spearfishing, but from the advice I've received, that's a great gun for high-vis, blue-water fishing. It's definitely enough gun for larger snapper and grouper. If you're crawling around reefs, though, a smaller gun may be easier to handle. I'd also thow out that that's a big gun for a 15y/o, but it sounds like you've got the experience to handle it!

Hi Cheapcheat, the best advice I can give you is to go and visit Florida Freedivers store in Lake Park. They have every kind of imaginable spearfishing equipment and the expertise to properly advise you as to what equipment would be the most suitable for you. Good luck!

I know what you mean by being a little out of the way but on the other hand, well worth the trip. You will not only get a wonderful education but you will get to personally lay your hands on the most vast array of guns and related equipment beyond your wildest dreams. I am sure that you have been to Deep6, Treasure Coast Dive Center and maybe a couple others but everything they have all put together would be nothing compared to what you will see at Florida Freedivers. Top spearos from around the state go there to purchase their equipment. Not to mention, the expertise of Mike and Patrick to guide you in the direction you need to go. You will not find this kind of help in any of the stores in our area. I live in Tequesta but stay here in Stuart quite a bit and know everyone in the dive business very well. I have been spearfishing with guns and pole spears for over 35 years so I fell like I am qualified to offer you this help.
Let me know how you make out. I have had many JBL guns and now have an LTD 54" biller with light, spare shaft and a powerhead for protection.
Next week, I will be receiving a Daryl Wong magnum speargun to also add to my collection.
