Good stuff, so should we start for melkbos on Sunday whatya think? Im hoping the weather reports are correct and we dont get there and its blown to s*%t, remember the can of sardines Perhaps theres cob...
Im thinking do a morning dive like 9 or 10, just to make sure the wind does not catch us

yeah, earlier the better, got lots to do on sunday!
im always dodgy about melkbos, 90% of the time its dirty...although just behind the vlei theres a patch of kelp that almost always holds hotties and when the time is right cob and steenbras...
but im up for it!

Ill take a drive out there Saturday afternoon, if its clean Ill let you know and we can go early Sunday, would you prefer earlier than 9? I could probably do 8ish but no earlier rofl. If its dirty where else do you suggest? Is that wreck in seapoint a MPA? Soetwater mite be a bit far for a early dive and also far on a chance if you wanna get wet

weather says Sw tomorrow and North on sunday?! typical conflicting weather reports!
no idea about sea point wreck, didnt miles once try organise an after work dive there??

Cool Ill let you know by tomorrow evening, if were in the water lank early it should be cool though BTW 8 is lank early but Ill be there roflI also saw the reports for the other wind directions but its still almost non existent so you neva know.

2 friends of mine will come for a dive on sunday at 8 too...
so lets hope mother nature is good to us ......(although she is a chick, hence unpredictability i.r.o her mood

Same here allthough I have gotten up at 3 on a few occasions to go diving in Struisbaai :head:headrofl

Hmmm, I really wanna go on Sunday, will you guys still be there at like say 11:00. I'm working from 9am -11am.

Maybe I'll go through at like 7, dive around a bit, meet you guys at 8 and leave at 8:30.

Hiya all

Am staying in Moullie Point for 3 weeks, house sitting! The Atlantic is flat and cleaning nicely, went for a paddle on surf ski an hour ago, and could almost see the bottom about 300 meters off the lighthouse.

Heya folks, so myself, CTguy and two of his buddies took our gear for a dip yesterday at Bakhoven, after Saturday investigations showed Melkbos to be kinda yellowish brown in colour. Bakhoven upon arrival looked sparkly clean from on top of the hill but once in the water it was a murky 1.5 to 3m at the most. We swam from one side of the bay to the other diving down into the murk but saw nothing except the odd lobster and kelp in the murk so on the other side of the bay it was decided to add it to the list of places to dive when the water is clean as it looks like it can be very nice when you can actually see whats below you
All in all it was a fun swim and it was good to finally meet another DBer, better luck next time hey guys. On the upside I do think I can now stop fiddling with my gear as the wetsuit and weight combination now works a charm after I cut my longjohns down to waist highs on saturday.

So Covert did the birthday boy get clean water and lots of fish from Jongens this weekend?? Please say yes Cape Town has produced very little in the line of fishy stories of late rofl

And typical south african style, DT brings along a 6 pack for after the dive....and where do we drink it? in the police station parking lot! roflthey weren't too happy!

Hey man nothing like a breakfast beer after a early morning dive...
As far as the cops are concerned that was empty bottles we removed from the water while we were diving and I just tasted it to make sure it was saltwater and not perhaps a full beer somebody dropped rofl
We did get the best part of the day yesterday, it started raining about 1 and 1/2 hours after I got home and was kinda miserable the rest of the day.

yeah, i got back and made a huge breakfast - bacon, eggs, russian sausage, potato wedges, toast, mushrooms....hehe, then painted for the rest of the day..

Hey guys I checked out Melkbos last night and it was flat and looking the most diveable I've ever seen it! I could'nt really make the viz out too much cos the sun was setting. but looked like it might need to clear up a bit, but that's why we got this nice strong SE. At least it's getting flat, perhaps when this wind dies down it will be good?

Also for those that have dived melkbos before. I take it you dive at the reef in front of the carpark and to the left? Have any of you noticed about a kilometer down the beach towards the powerstation, there is a point with a reef off it. has anyone dived there? Cos I was thinking that that one is way far away and definately likely to be less dived than the one next to the carpark. Here I go daydreaming again but Maybe it's like a secret spot with monster crays and huge gallies. ...probally not...
