hahaha, target practise?! jeez dude thats lanks scary, what covert meant to say was: we give everyone a chance....10 mins to be exact...get in the water...give u ur 10 mins to hide, and then we do our 'target practise'...without 10 mins its just unfair and very unsporting! LOL
where are you in cape town?! melkbos is sometimes diveable in the evenings, although the cut off time for kreef is 4pm so no one really get to kreef during the week unless u lucky enough not to work! so its melkbos, false bay and ...well i dont really know the rest....
and welcome bro! how were the waves at elands?

Im also gonna be by my lonesome as I head out quite early lately, no more of this 9 - 10 bullshit rofl Its now 7 or 8 o clock before the wind starts blowing too hard :)
O yea and welcome RB allways good to have another addition to the team :friday

Thanks CTG - i'm pretty much smack bang in the middle of town; work in bree str (soon to be adderley) and live in gardens. Forgot about the 4pm cutoff...will likely not get off work early enough then in any event. Any of you guys shoot at bantry bay often? A friend of mine is always telling me of all the spearos there after work during the week...nice and close for me! Thanks for the welcome and I'll try not to be too much of an easy target :)

Cool man, always up for a challenge! too much of a mission for me to come out there after work, havnt dived there, although it does look pretty good at times! the week is for surfing for me.....and then weekends i dive....unless its holidays! which is soon! woohoo!

Hey rbotes - also stay in gardens? Me too. I often go for a session at Bantry Bay because it's often protected from wind and sometimes, the swell too. Normally just slip off the rocks and swim out to the middle of the bay. Quite a few hotties around but as usual they're easy to shoot so not much excitement - I normally just leave 'em at peace and just do some 'keep fit dives'.

What was quite wierd though the other day was that after getting out the water, the cops searched my car for abalone!

Hey yogaman - let me know next time you head out there and done mind a tag along! My friend who lives in seacliff road chatted to one of the cops a few weeks ago - cop said they pretty much hang around to check the spearos dont come out with any crays or perlies, and dont care much about the fish. I thought its a "no take zone" from mouille point to hout bay though? (including fish)

Hey rbotes, nice to meet you buddy! Moullie point till Houtbay is only no take for crays. However from (just went blank- but it's that picnic spot past llundudno) to Houtbay is an MPA which means nothing can be collected there.
I'm quite a fan of soetwater for kreef cos I always get my quota there, also there are monster hotties if the water is clear enough to see them?
What are you doing on Monday cos my kreefing buddy and me are probally going to go through then.

CTG. Yeah, I realized that my wife is a really bad judge of visability!

CTG, DT & Co, If you go early like you say I think I'll be able to join you, I just need to mission to get back by 12.

Went for a dive today. The weirdest conditions I have ever seen on soetwater side. There where patches that where Crystal clear, and other patches that where peasoup. There was a really big swell plus the added frustration of taking my wife along who gets into a panic attack about open water. We only got into the water at 3:20 cos we spent most of the day trying to find a postoffice with crayfish licenses! :vangrySo i did'nt stay in the water very long.:(

Talking about cops. DT and I where once met a cop who tried to convince us to dive in an MPA. He was like:"If I where you I'd take a chance!:D" - Yeah right! :naughty

Hi Gang

saunders Rock is a great little 'Lunch time' spearing spot, but no kreefing allowed!:rcard

Here's a pic Roger Horrocks took of me last summer at saunders to wet your appetites.:)

lol all the SA boyz are popping out of the woodwork it seems. You can spear anyplace from moulliepoint to just past bakoven. Then the "no take" zone starts at oudekraal. I regularly go with a work buddy and a buddy from the spearfishing club to bakoven after work. Its just nice and relaxing going for a dive after a hard days graft. So we pop in for about an hour and then go to camps bay for a cocktail or two sometimes six but who's counting. So yeah ill check the weather and maybe we can hook up during the week for a fun dive session and a drink or two. Let me know who is game.

So Covert lets have some pics of em fish you shot.:)

hehe id love too but unfortuanitly they got hacked chopped and spiced right on the beach and was getting toasted even before i made it out of my wetsuit to take a pic or two. But then again we have all seen wildeperde and john browns so nothing spectacular.

Hi Lenny - thanks! I'll let you know closer to the time :)

That would be awesome, thanks!

I was under the impression that you can't spear or take anything out from Saunders/Bantry Bay in Sea Point onwards?? (until Kommetjie?).

For sure rbotes - will be diving along this sea point/oudekraal area a lot this summer (or at least when summer officially gets here!).

ok checked Sunday is going to be an awesome day for diving (or a proper diving day) but ill bring my kit to work tomorrow and head off to bakoven tomorrow after work, there is wind but hopefully its diveable. Anybody want to come jump in the pond with me then just give me a ring 0834110838 (sean)
