Just found this device. Never come across this idea before but thought it was brilliant. Originally for use by surfers who need to lock their cars while they go into the water and who can't take their keys with them.

You put your car keys inside it and fix it to your car locking it with a combination. Seems foolproof and perfect for divers like me :). Anyone got one and want to comment or anyone recommend a good make/price/source.

Jonnys got one that looked exactly like that to me Dave, he hangs it from his towing eye and said people are always fiddling with it as the combination has always changed when he gets back.

they have one at wal mart or a store like that and you can hook it right to the car frame

Looks like the same contraption used by realtors...I have a buddy who uses a piece of that aluminum AC tape and tapes it to an inconspicious place under his car

I leave the keys in my 265K Nissan Frontier hoping against all hope it will make a short journey to Mexico. Than I call my insurance Co. and...well let's hope it happens.:t

Why you don't take a key with you in the water?

My car key is one with such an electric door opener and anti-theft system which is not waterproof. So I went to a lock and key service and they made me a new key without all these electric thing. With this very small and flat key, I can only open the door of my car - but not drive away. And the "real" key is concealed in the car.

And if you lose this key there is always a stone in the near of the car :).
