Intriguing. Latest product from C4 is a T-shirt made of carbon fabric, that was given the creative name T-Carbon. :inlove

C4 says the fabric is athermic: not affected by heat nor cold. "Transpirating, dissipative, antistatic". The fabric is a texture of two filaments named Resistex Carbon and Dryarn (polypropilenic filament that is said to be ultralight).
Cost: 50 Euros. Not cheap, but it's Made in Italy, not in a chinese sweathouse.

Thought you'd all find this interesting, or at least curious. :)

Here's a pic of the C4 shirt T-Carbon:

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

How does it feel on the skin?

Send me 50 Euros, and shortly after I'll be able to answer your question. :t

I don't know much about this shirt. It's been unveiled a couple weeks ago at the EUDI dive industry exhibit here in Italy.
C4 owner Marco Bonfanti has explained, very shortly and succintly, that thing about a lets' say thermic "neutrality" of the shirt, such that when you wear it you won't feel any warmer nor colder than going naked. Uh?? This at least is what I seem to understand. It doesn't sound very clear, and I have no more details on that matter. But if so, the applications in sports might interesting.

Thanks Spag, I'm now inspired to up the rep cycle on the ab burn out.:friday That sleek see though style would be compromised with a Guinness gut.

Cheers, Don

April 1st is still to come :)

If it doesn't cool or warm then it is not much more than a normal lycra, is it? I would not waste my money on it in this case, unless I had carbon fins and saw the need to have a matching outfit :t

If it actually has some additional positive effect that justifies the price then I am sorry for the former statement.

Good find Spago :)
if they made a version with a collar then it would save ironing the shirts for work, just go pre-preg :)

I don't think we should expect it to have Super-Powers, or label it as crap if otherwise: hey, come on, it's a shirt!

The price, after all, is about the same cost of a Nike "Pro Combat" or any other similar "technical" shirt for sports. And the fabric is probably something more "technical" than Lycra (but then what do I know about Lycra? Only that Lycra underwear makes my genitals itchy...).

No not Joe, the fine Italian Jewel was very gratuitously donated by Alessandro from Lemini LLC in West Palm Beach Florida.
A Neptune named Jeff got very lucky, My 11 year old son bought 20 bucks worth of tickets and let it all ride on the C4. He came just 18 tickets from getting it, but the money went to a very good cause.

Cheers, Don
PS, Here is Alessandro, Joe and Noah.
