Just to let everybody know.
The second pool session I have organised went very well last night. I can now train Monday nights 8.30 to 9.30 and Wednesday nights 8 till 9. Both sessions are at Uwic Uni pool with existing scuba clubs. Its 25m long 3m deep at one end and about 1m at the shallow end (not so good).
The Monday night scuba club have insisted on me getting a buddy if I plan to do any breath holding in the pool, which is common sense and fine by me.So for now I am restricted to dynamic. They are finding out what there insures think about having a freediver in the pool with their club but for now its fine.
The Monday pool session seems to be the quieter of the two and is better for doing lengths. The Wednesday session had many more divers in the pool so I had to take opportunities to swim lengths as they came, not great but for now its fine.
I am going to look into arranging a pool session for freedivers only, but this will depend on numbers so if anybody in the Cardiff area reads this and is interested please get in touch.

If any of the existing saltfree crew are in the area on a Monday or Wednesday night you are more than welcome to join me.

Once I move into my house in Cardiff there will be free accommodation as well!!

Sam could you forward any information from the BFA regarding setting up a club, insurance requirements and safety e.t.c.

Hi Dan
sounds good but don't forget that Dynamic is breath holding too so get a buddy for that as well. Just as risky, if not more so sometimes

I am more likely to get over there in the cooler months - off to Vancouver next week but will be in touch when I get back and try and make it sometimes

You can find all the BFA info on

www.britishfreediving.org

Contact Alun George who can provide you with the safety documents and Tessa or Donna about membership and insurance. Basically if you stick by BFA safety guidelines and all your freedivers are BFA members, your sessions will be covered by the BFA insurance - but check that with Tess as I'm not totally sure how it works. SaltFree is not really a club and we are not affiliated

I will pass on the details to the Bristol freedivers and maybe some of us will join you
