Carlos Coste -102 CW dive

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Is already down ;-(

Finally something is done with this Cyprus material. I already thought it to be a shame that so much good material (which we witnessed in Cyprus) was waisted. Especialy Carlos dive video was awesome i remember. Lets hope it comes back soon.
Otherwise i can offer to host it on my site (have 60G/month available so no problems there)

Thanks !!
Nice video . I like it because it is one of the few around where you see this long falling into the abyss phase.

Always funny to hear Carlos comming out and making his bird sounds ;-)
Always does that somehow.

The issue with video is it is extremely expensive to host. It's good to see people host the odd video here though!

Awesome video! Worth the wait (I have dialup :blackeye)

I like the bird sounds...

I'm really happy that people can at last see this awesome footage. I edited together the same day that we filmed it and although I have shown it to many people on DVD, I was disapointed that we could not let more people see it. So a big thanks to Dan for hosting it on his site.
Please don't ask me for any more footage from Cyprus as Howard Jones has it all and is too busy getting on with his life right now.
This is not a criticism of Howard, he just has other priorities right now. If any one else is able to host it contact Dan Bolt as he is the only person with permission to show it .

Matt,
That is a very nice video as for me as it really gives the feeling of depth - nice work!

amazing dive...

Does anybody know what mask he uses? I mean he is taking it to -102m... :duh

Hi Folks,

Glad you like the video - thanks to Monkey Matt for putting it together :)

I've only got a 4Gb usage on my hosts & it went over last month so I've taken the Carlos Video off for a few days. It'll be back up soon though (probably today!).

Thanks for looking!

Dan

Dan is being a little modest because he filmed all the stuff from 0 to 30 and 30 to 0 metres while freediving. The rest of us were blowing bubbles all over his shots :duh

To the chaps who have stolen the vid off my site... why didn't you ask me or Howard first? :waterwork

To be honest I don't really mind because as Stephen said hosting vids is really costly and if someone else is willing to shoulder the burden then so be it... but you could have asked! :duh

I suppose I should be gratefull for the free advertising... why else do you think I put my web address through the whole sequence rofl

Dan

PS: Stop it Matt, you'll make me blush!

Nice video Dan , very well shot. Only a pitty and a disgrace i think that only after more then a year a sniplet is released of the tons of footage that was shot there.
Lots of divers including myself have pleed Howard several times to do someting with the material or hand over the material to someone who can and will want to edit the stuff.
There are lots of people willing to put some time in edditing the footage togeter, but nothing came out of it. Only excuses.
In the end i got 30 seconds of my own dive for 50 euro !!! from Dieter Bouman (major ripoff but what can you do).

I still remember several people filming underwater, robots flying around us filming, even a complete TV film crew, but in the end we got nothing but promisses.

Compare that to Vancouver , where shortly after a complete DVD was available for the competitors to enjoy......

You're right - it is a real pity but that's down to Howard I'm afraid. I don't have access to the tapes :-(
