Can anyone tell me if its legal/ illegal to spear lobsters (over correct size) in Uk inshore waters?

I have no idea ,but think it would be quite incredible if anyone witnessed such a terrible crime and knew who to report to and anyone turned up to arrest you before you ate it !!! However if you shot it, would it definately kill it? if not it would still be a bit of a handful to deal with so you just as well just pick it up anyway . lobsters and crabs are traditionally kept alive to point of cooking so unless you went home and cooked it promptly it could be a waste . I often collect crabs ,but only when diving from my kayak where i can store them alive until returning to shore but would not attempt to swim far on a shore dive ,back to shore attempting to carry even 1 crab or lobster!!!

They do it in USA, just not over here.
I have thought about it, but then the thought passed...
Man up and grab him or admit defeat and shoot a fish ;)

Sounds too late tho, shame, a 12lb lobster would have made a great report!

NO, it is illegal in the USA as well. We have to get them back to land whole, intact, and with no holes.

Its way more fun trying to lasso them. Or you could just be brave and go for the 'hero grab'. :p
