New to this site but not to freediving. I've been diving for 10 years but unable to find a buddy. I live very close to Blue Springs in Orange City and there is where my love of this sport began. I challenged myself to touch the sign, 55' down and since reaching that goal years ago just in general love the feel of being deep. I have a great trip idea for a small group, I've done this trip three times myself including this past week. The trip would highlight the springs NW of Gainesville, along the Suwannee, Sante Fe and Withlacoochie rivers and includes: Madison Blue Springs, Peacock Springs, Lafayette Blue Springs, Troy Springs, Little River Springs, Royal Springs, and Cow Springs. Looking for buddies to learn new tricks from and to go on short trips to do some diving.

Welcome to the forums! Those are some of my favorite places to dive as well. My two favorite fresh water dive spots are Ginnie and Blue springs.

Best of luck putting together a group. There used to be a couple people on the boards in the Orlando area hopefully they will chime in.

Hi James,
Too bad you are so far away. But let me know if you come to FL again, maybe we could meet at some of the other fun springs north/west of Ginnie.

I'm pretty much at Blue Springs every Saturday morning right at 8 am and dive until the scuba guys/gals show up. Hope to see you there!

Scott,
Here is my email, wildflower_naturelover @ yahoo

I don't always check this, the only reason I did today was that this site sent me notification that you sent me a message.

I've been disappointed with Blue since early July when it got all murky. However, just Thursday I was there, after work and practically alone (which was very nice) and swam with a 3 ft gator...which was awesome!!

I'd like to go to Alexander and Silver Glen possibly this weekend (early in the morning or late in the afternoon, I know all about those scuba guys/gals we have to dodge).
